Delicious Sindhi Biryani Recipe

ingredients

  1. 1/2 kg chicken
  2. 1 cups basmiti rice
  3. 1/2 kg potatoes
  4. 8 tomatoes
  5. 2 lemons
  6. 250 grams yogurt
  7. 5 whole green chillies
  8. 1/2 bunch chopped mint leaves
  9. 1/4 dried plums
  10. 1 tsp ginger/garlic pate
  11. 2 tsp red chilli powder
  12. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  13. 1/2 tsp saffron
  14. 1 bay leaf
  15. 1 tbsp hot spices
  16. Few drops screw pine
  17. Salt to taste
  18. oil as required

preparation

  • Soak saffron in screwpibe; peel potatoes and cut them into small quarters.
  • Par-boil rice in water with salt, bay leaves and whole hot spices. Heat oil in pot and add 6 sliced tamatoes.
  • When tomatoes become tender, add ginger/garlic paste, red chillies, turmeric powder and salt; fry. Add whisked yogurt, potatoes and chicken. When oil appears on surface. Add dried plums, green chillies, mint leaves, 2 tomatoes cut in round and lemon slices to the chicken. Mix well.
  • Heat a little oil in separate pot and place a layer of rice, then a layer of chicken masala and lastly, again a layer of rice, then a layer of screwpine mixture on top and keep on dum for 10 minutes on low flame.
  • Delicious Sindhi Biryani is ready; serve hot with ‘raita’.
